About the author

Living in the heart of Northern California, Lori Berggren is a mother, wife, poet, caregiver, sister, daughter, and author of “Every Day I Wonder What I Will Wonder Next.” She lives in Vacaville, California, with her spouse and their dog, Sadie, close to their family and friends; the area is full with natural beauty, which feeds her spirit.

Trees, marshes, wildflowers, and the simple pleasure of sinking her toes in the sand are among Lori’s favorite things. She enjoys reading, football, essential oils, antiquing, flea markets, vintage literature, and collecting narrative postcards. But she’s not into twisting roads, loud sounds, peas, thunder, frightening movies, filth, or mopping.

Lori was quiet, reserved, and had low self-esteem as a child. She has made a lot of effort over the years to let go of certain aspects of herself. At six feet tall, she is nearly unrestrained, but she is always evolving. Although she is not perfect in life, she never gives up and keeps learning new things every day. She thinks the voyage is preferable to the alternative.

Lori discovered as a mother how crucial patience and perspective were. Moreover, she discovered in her second marriage that perfection isn’t necessary. Making concessions is part of being a friend and a partner. She could never have imagined such a wonderful friendship between them.

Her life was saved by her journaling and poetry. Every day, words have been her friends, guiding her to both her best and worst selves. She is always inventing with her pen.

The most wonderful and difficult period of her life has been the past few years spent working as a professional caretaker. It has taught her that the best present someone could ever give is to take care of the elderly who are unable to take care of themselves. She is now able to offer and share herself with others because she has discovered compassion, selflessness, and the fact that the world does not revolve around her. If we pay attention, she thinks everything has a lesson to teach us.

Through trial and error, ups and downs, fear and fearlessness, she has now realized that she is the idealized version of herself and that all of her hardships, tears, and scars have contributed to her current state of being. She is traveling, and through her writing, she hopes to inspire others to see, feel, and seek lessons in their own lives so they, too, may be precisely who they want to be and learn to appreciate themselves and their life as they are, right now.

Lori wonders what her next chapter will be.
